Hail and Farewell
This isn't so much a thought as it is a statement.
For the next four months, I will be living and working aboard the USS Iwo Jima as the ship embarks on a humanitarian mission to Central/South America and the Caribbean.
I'll be working pretty long hours seven days a week for the next several months. Since I'll be spending a good portion of that time in the field, working closely with the US military, NGOs, various international participants from the private/government/military sectors, and the local populace, my internet access will be very limited and delicious/twitter will take an extended break. I may check in sporadically with some Twitter updates, including photos, though that is to be confirmed.
Additionally, as per the requisites of the assignment, I will temporarily take a break from writing LatAmThought, as well as covering Latin America for the ISN and WPR during the assignment.
Look here for occasional postings, which solely reflect my own views and not those of my employer. Though it may take longer than usual, I encourage people to write. The best way to reach me is by email at eliot@eliotbrockner.com.
I'll see you all soon.
-Eliot
